Before their meeting on October 24, the SCHE Team Eclipse spent some time working on teamwork and communication. They had to try to make a perfect square with eight people, the catch, they were all blindfolded. Very interesting. The exercise was meant to help develop an understanding of the importance of leadership in difficult situations, communication, and teamwork. The team realized that they couldn't all do the same thing, such as take a step to the west, so they had to figure out how to work out the kinks and make the square.

The Starkville Christian Home Educators (SCHE) Presentation Team presented BEST (Boosting Engineering, Science, and Technology) Robotics to Starkville Christian School. The object was to inform the students about BEST and promote interest in the program. The Presentation Team introduced the SCHE team and marketed their robot. They explained how the competition works; how the SCHE team functions (i.e., splitting members into team groups and brainstorming for ideas about the robot's design), and the Engineering Process. The team described the groups and their tasks, for example, The Base Group/designed and developed the platform and wheels of the robot). They connected with the students via power point, a question and answer session, and speeches. The SCHE BEST Presentation Team concluded their presentation by telling the students how they could get involved in BEST and about Saturday's competition.
The SCHE Robotics Team had a team building meeting. Much of the afternoon was spent geocaching around Misssissippi State University. Afterwards, we ate and relaxed with games and socializing.

The SCHE team will take the holidays off and start fresh at the beginning of the new year.
The SCHE Robotics team took their robot out to the SCHE "Superbowl" football game for other students to see. Parents and students from all grades stopped by to view and see the robot in action. Katie and Miandra gave demonstrations on how the robot worked and what its mission was for the BEST tournament.

After much toil and many late nights, we have finally gotten the robot working.
Here is a short video taken the day before the competition. Unfortunately, we didn't have any bottles to test with, so you will have to be happy with a box test.
